The current Encore has been around since 2013 and it is one of the more comfortable compact crossovers on the market. However, because most other manufacturers are getting new models out and the Encore is nearly 3 years old now, Buick is going to give the car an all needed update which is going to make it even more desirable than before. This new 2017 Buick Encore should make use of all new engines, it will likely get a new looks as well as a lot of new technologies which are meant to allow it to continue to be the most advanced crossover in its class.
2017 Buick Encore Price and Release Date
While most other cars Buick has on the market are big, the Encore is the smallest of the bunch and it demonstrated in numerous occasions that it is a lot better than it seems to be at first. The new model should be out by the end of the year and it will be available for sale starting with the first half of 2016. Its base price will not change all that much from the current generation, so expect it to cost around $25,000 for a base model.
Let’s start our small preview with its interior. While it will be a mid-life update and it should receive a big change on the inside, the car will actually remain very similar to the current model. It will retain the same dashboard and instrument cluster as before but it will now get a slightly better navigation and infotainment system. On top of that, the seats should now be heated and ventilated as standard which would be a massive improvement over the previous version.
The outside of the car has been spied not too long ago on a camouflaged vehicle and it seems that the 2017 Buick Encore is going to receive an all new front end with slightly different headlights with standard LED daytime running lights, a new bumper with smaller air intakes and possibly a new grille.
2017 Buick Encore Engine
Engine wise, the old 1.4 liter inline 4 is finally going to see its demise and it will likely be replaced with GM’s all new 1.5 liter turbocharged inline 4, engine which could provide as much as 180 horsepower and more than 170 lb-ft of torque, a nice improvement over the previous engine. On top of that, this might be one of the first cars for GM to get the all new 9 speed automatic which will power either the front wheels or an all wheel drive system for a truly seamless experience. The only drawback over the previous version is likely going to be the higher price for the all wheel drive model.
