Over the years, the vehicle’s look has been improved by adding new features, curves, and lines but its original design remained the same, and it will probably remain forever. Ford Super Duty Exterior
Since we have already started our story about the Super Duty’s exterior design in the introduction, we will continue with it. Namely, the 2017 Ford Super Duty will be a large departure from the current generation in terms of exterior. When you see the photo of the newcomer, it won’t be that hard to see that the vehicle is much different from its predecessor. At the very first sight, you will see that many things have been changed. Starting with the front fascia, you will see the newly designed headlights. The grille has also undergone some treatments and looks different from the old one. The new twin-bar unit is now massive, and it comes with vertical side vents. The front bumper hasn’t been changed much and it still features closed-loop tow hooks. Also unchanged will be sloping window slots for easy viewing of the rearview mirrors.
The cabin of the new Super Duty will have a lot of things in common with the F-150. This helped the carmaker to reduce development and repair costs. This time, the company offers a new lightning bundle which includes LED headlights and LED side spotlights. The cargo box also gets LED lightning for those who work past dusk. The 2017 Ford Super Duty will be offered in three cab configurations. Those are SuperCrew, SuperCab, and regular.
When you take a seat behind the wheel, you will see rather familiar environment. Well, it is a clone of the F-150 cabin but a carbon clone. The carmaker didn’t want to spend time developing separate interiors and borrowed the F-150’s layout for the new Super Duty. Therefore, the cabin of the newcomer will benefit from all of the features and improvements of the F-1150’s cabin. It will arrive with TFT displays, SYNC technology, seven cameras, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, an eight-inch screen for camera views, etc. Of course, cabin will be pretty generous in terms of space and luxurious in terms of materials.
2017 Ford Super Duty Specs
Even though the 2017 Ford Super Duty comes with new exterior and interior, it will come with familiar engines under its hood. Those are a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 and a 6.2-liter gasoline V-8. A 6.8-liter gasoline V-10 is also available, but for chassis cab buyers. All powertrains are teamed up with an automatic shifter. Both, rear-wheel-drive and part-time Four-wheel-drive will be available. Unfortunately, the carmaker hasn’t revealed details about acceleration, fuel efficiency, and output of the engines. There are some rumors that the 6.7-liter Power Stroke will churn 1,000 pound-feet of torque. If this turns out to be true, the engine is going to surpass the mighty Ram 3500’s 900 pound-feet of torque.
2017 Ford Super Duty Price
The company hasn’t published details about the price either. We can only say that the current generation of the Sport Duty starts at $32,400 for the base trim levels.
