Jaguar is a very well known luxury and sports car manufacturer and even though most of their cars sell very well, it just can’t much its competitors in terms of profit and number of sales mostly because they do have a very limited roster of cars and most of these are very expensive even by luxury cars standards. In order to grow as a company they decided some time ago to release smaller cars such as the Jaguar XE which is a compact executive sedan similar to the BMW 3 Series or the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace which is a very similar crossover in terms of size and performance to the Porsche Macan. The later is currently only in concept form released under the C-X17 name and despite the fact it will only be released on the market in the mid of 2016, the car should be out in production form by the end of this year.
2017 Jaguar F-Pace Price
They tried their best in order to keep the car as secret as possible, so even though it has been released in concept form and the car has been spied testing with camouflage, Jaguar hasn’t said anything about its price. However, considering the price of the XE sedan and that of its competitors, it should be available for around $40,000 which would be right where most of its competitors are. The high performance versions on the other hand are expected to fetch well over $50,000 with a possible Pace R model going for nearly $90,000 which would be M5 territory.
2017 Jaguar F-Pace Engine
Under the hood of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace there are going to be three different engines and some time after its launch one more engine should become available in certain markets. The base model will make use of a 2 liter Ingenium turbocharged inline 4 good for 240 horsepower and more than 250 lb-ft of torque. The option will come in the form of a 2 liter diesel from the same family which will be available in two different power outputs. The base will offer 163 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque while the option will offer up to 200 horsepower and more than 320 lb-ft of torque. In both cases the car should get at least 30 MPG on average which is a great number for its class.
There is also going to be an S performance model that will offer the 3 liter supercharged V6 from the F-Type which will offer up to 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. All these engines will come with an 8 speed automatic as standard and all of them will be available either with rear wheel drive or all wheel drive. Some time after its launch an all wheel drive R model with a 5 liter supercharged V8 with up to 550 horsepower should become available.
On the interior the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace will be well above the average of its class and despite the fact it will get most of the design from the XE sedan, the dashboard and most of the instruments are going to be nicely laid out while the materials will certainly be up there with the best of its class.
However, there is going to be a lot more room both for the passengers as well as it will get more room for luggage because Jaguar modified the original design so the car now has longer overhangs which should translate in a larger boot. The design of the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is mostly known at this point and even though Jaguar has it under wraps, the car will be mostly identical to the C-X17 concept crossover but with slight changes to the rear of the car as well as smaller wheels with sizes ranging from 18 inches on the base model all the way up to 20 inches on the high performance version of the car.
