The Cadenza has been around on the US market for only a couple of years but it will already receive a rather large update with the 2017 Kia Cadenza. This is because the car has been available in South Korea ever since 2010 and it has to receive an update in order to remain relevant. While the actual update has not been released so far, Kia did release the K7 model which will come on the US market as the next generation Cadenza. While most rumors said that the new model would only be a small facelift, it seems that the K7 is in fact based on an entirely new platform which it will share with the Optima.
2017 Kia Cadenza Price
This also means that the US model will receive the new platform but it will likely get a slightly different tune for the suspension system in order to be more comfortable during long highway trips. The price is expected to remain constant so expect the base model to start at around $34,000 while the top end versions will cost up to $45,000. The only drawback is that the car is likely at least a year away from the US launch which would still be okay considering that the previous generation launched three years after the Korean release.
Engine wise, the new 2017 Kia Cadenza is likely going to get the same 3.3 liter naturally aspirated V6 as before but this time it may provide more power and torque while being more economical. The news will likely come in the form of a new turbocharged inline 4 petrol engine which may be offered as an option for those looking for a more efficient car. This could get a new dual-clutch gearbox while the V6 could also be offered in all wheel drive guise in which case it would become a very interesting offering.
2017 Kia Cadenza Exterior and Interior
The exterior of the new 2017 Kia Cadenza is probably the biggest change over the older model. Thanks to the new platform, Kia managed to give the car a wider and lower stance than before while keeping the trademark long hood and rather short back unchanged. The front end received their new tiger-grille which has first debuted on the new Optima. However, many said that it looks too much like a Maserati but we have to say that with the swept-back headlights it looks unique and rather nice. The back is cleaner than before and it features rectangular tailpipes for a more premium look. Inside the cabin we expect to see better materials, a new design for its dashboard as well as more available space for its passengers considering the small increase in wheelbase.
