The LX570 is a full size luxury SUV which has been on the market since 2007 without any major changes and despite the fact the car is already very old, it still has a lot of people willing to pay well over $80,000 to get one and that is mostly because the LX is one of the few remaining body-on-frame SUVs which offer the same amount of luxury and comfort as a limousine, all while being able to get further off-road than many other specialized vehicles. While not too long ago many people thought that the car would be discontinued, Toyota and Lexus announced the 2017 Lexus LX570, a massive redesign of the current model which will provide an improved engine, a different exterior as well as many other changes which are meant to make this old SUV competitive once again.
The platform of the 2017 Lexus LX570 will remain unchanged as well as the general look of the car but besides that the new model should be all new. The release date for the new model should be some time in the early 2016 or the mid of 2016 while the car is likely to be ready for sale by the end of 2016.The starting price for 2017 Lexus LX570 is $84 000.
2017 Lexus LX570 Engine
Engine wise, the 2017 Lexus LX570 will get the same powertrain as the older model but this time the engine should get small improvements with a new direct injection system, a cylinder deactivation feature as well as a slightly different variable valve system. Thanks to these changes the 5.7 liter naturally aspirated V8 should now make a bit more power with an expected output of around 410 horsepower and more than 420 lb-ft of torque. The engine will still be offered with the same 6 speed automatic as before and just like before, the all wheel drive system with the lockable differentials is going to be standard.
On the exterior on the other hand the 2017 Lexus LX570 will get a few more upgrades than just a few. Firstly the front end is going to be completely new with Lexus’ own spindle grille which doesn’t really make sense here considering how tall the car is but in order to better integrate it into their car roster the LX will get it as well. The rear end of the car will get new LED tail lights, a new bumper with an integrated step as well as a better departure angle.
Lexus LX570 2017 interior
Its interior will also get through a few changes but this time the design will remain very similar to that of the 2015 model. The change will come in the form of an all new infotainment system that will support both Google’s Android Auto as well as Apple’s Car Play.
