Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo

Bugatti has been making the Veyron for the past 10 years so it is only natural for them to release a new car. However, before they release the Chiron, as the successor of the Veyron is going to be called, they also released the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo for the Gran Turismo game on the PlayStation. This car is a proof of concept which Bugatti said that it may be the car to showoff their new design scheme which may even get on the Chiron when it will be launched some time in 2017. Until then though, this car will also be released in physical form a the Frankfurt Auto Show when Bugatti is going to disclose what type of engine they mounted in it as well as the technical details about the car.

Many rumors suggest that the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is in fact a car based on the Veyron and you would be led to believe this considering how it looks. It has pretty much the same shape and proportions as the Veyron but it does look a lot sportier. A production model has not been made public just yet but the Chiron, which is expected to be very similar to this particular concept, should cost well over $2,000,000 which would quickly become one of the most expensive production cars ever made.

Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Engine

Engine

Engine wise, the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is expected to make use of the same, or of a very similar, W16 engine from the Veyron. This engine will also be installed in the Chiron with some modifications made to it. Firstly, the engine is expected to grow in displacement to around 9 liters, trumping the one of the Viper which currently holds the title as the biggest engine in a production car. This will be boosted by four different turbochargers, two of which are expected to get electric aids. These will allow the car to get little to no turbo-lag and it should allow the massive 9 liter engine to develop as much as 1,500 horsepower and well over 1,000 lb-ft of torque reliably, which is the true challenge here.

There are no words on the gearbox or the transmission type but some said that the Vision concept car is actually rear wheel drive in order to save as much weight as possible while the production vehicle will remain all wheel drive. The power is likely going to be send to its wheels via a custom built 8 speed automatic which will be able to handle all that torque without any problems.

Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Design

Let’s talk a bit about the design of the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo because it has to be one of the most impressive cars made by Bugatti. The design, while clearly influenced by the Veyron, is unique. It comes with its own paint scheme, a two-tone design which is very similar to that of the 1937 Le Mans racer. The car is painted in a blue livery with the number 16 on the front grille and small decals on the sides. The front end is quite striking with two headlights with four LED clusters each which give it a really bold appearance. The back features a Le Mans styled massive wing and a quad-exhaust system on the center.

Interior

The cabin is unknown at this point but the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is likely going to get a really minimalistic look with only the bare minimum offered in order to allow the driver to concentrate on actually driving the car. The production model on the other hand will feature all the usual luxuries of the Veyron and even more than that with a low of new technology being expected to be introduced on it and later down the road on the other cars from the VW Group.
